Veronica M. Roux, “Mickey” of North Fort Myers formerly of Port Charlotte, FL and Watertown, NY, passed away on September 26, 2018 at home with her family at her side. She was 85. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Mercy Hospital and Samaritan Keep Home. She also ran a family care home for many years. After retirement, Mickey stayed active and always on the go, she enjoyed exercising at her community’s clubhouse, liked going to the pool, and especially being in the hot tub. Her nights were spent reading. Mickey always put her family and friends first, always willing to help and give, to anyone in need. She loved traveling and with her husband and spent many years in their motor home seeing the country. Mickey was loved by everyone who know her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert G. Roux, Sr.; her children, Vickey Hopkins, Bryan Roux, Linda Thomas, and Robert Roux, Jr. She is re-united by those who predeceased her, mother, Agnes Doner; brothers Gerald, Charles, Wilford, and Robert Doner; and her twin sister, Virginia “Noney” Earl, with whom she was always close and missed every day.

A private service will be held in Clair, NY at a later date.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Macular Degeneration Research.
